American company VMETRO officially presented solid-state hdd VMDRIVE. The new product form factor 6U VME or CompactPCI differed from other solid-state hdd in terms of the fact that its design concept is executed taking into account complex operating conditions.
Article satisfies the stringent requirements, presented to the equipment for the military and aerospace applications. The two-channel interface ensures the rate of exchange to 70 Mbyte(s)/s. Its presence offers the possibility of straight connection to the depositories with the internal connections (Fiber channel storage area networks, FC SAN). Such depositories are used, in particular, in aviation onboard systems for the record of information about flight. The production of two versions of hdd, which are distinguished by the volume, is planned: 40 and 80 Gb.

There are data, that the hdd already passed the test MIL-STD810F, by results of which is determined the fitness of equipment to the operation on board the helicopters, equipped with artillery armament.
