The work of computer enthusiasts frequently brings the most unexpected fruits. So certain Chris fenton, probably peak to the creators of 100- dollar OLPC, decided to build its own notebook for half of the sum mentioned above.
The process it approached with the plenty portion of humor, which was expressed in the configuration solution:

Processor: micro-controller PICAXE 18X
OZU: 96 bytes (!). Expansion to 8 KB subsequently is planned
Display: two-colored, whitish-blue, 4 lines on 20 symbols
Standard keyboard from notebook

The processor of this notebook is capable to fulfill 256 instructions per second. Thus in the specially developed for device language chris++ it is written tens of programs. In this case text editor is capable of working immediately with four windows simultaneously !

Entire work on project took away in the creator 4 months and 50 dollars. Then now chris has notebook, which it made by itself:).
