Fujitsu, or more precisely, two subdivisions of company, FMA (Fujitsu microelectronics america) and Fujitsu laboratories, report about the creation of the KMOP- chip, which ensures synchronization and obtaining data with the capacity 40-44 Gbit/s. solution fujitsu is intended to use in the series-parallel converters for optical modules.
About their development the representatives Fujitsu laboratories described in the course of conference ISSCC (International solid state circuits conference). On the assertion of company, this first solution, executed with the technology KMOP and which ensures synchronization and obtaining data with the capacity 40-44 Gbit/s, and also demultiplexing 16x 2,5 Gbit/s. The solution satisfies the requirements of interference level ITU g.8251. Until now the similar solutions were carried out on the technologies siGe (silicongermanium) or biCMOS (bipolar KMOP- process), however, their energy consumption in certain cases reaches triply larger value in comparison with the KMOP- microcircuits.

According to the data Of fujitsu, executed on 90 nm standards the chip scatters 0,91 W with the work with the capacity 40 Gbit/s. The dimensions of solution compose 0,8x1,8 mm.
