STMicroelectronics reports about the release of the 2 mega-pixel modules VS6724, intended for the integration in the telephones of average level, which are appeared, as is known, most claimed by market, and intended for gradual displacement popular today 1,3-megapixel solutions (in particular, ST VS6624).

VS6724 contains multiunit objective, 1/4 " - sensor and processor for processing image ISP (Image signal processing) â€“ and all this in the case Of smOP2 with the sizes of 8x8x4,5 mm or 8x8x5,5 mm. the resolution of sensor is equal to 1600x1200 pixels (UXGA). In the press release of company it is asserted that the sensor ensures the record of 30 UXGA- frame per second, however only in the size M -JPEg (Motion-Joint photographic experts group). With the start of regime YUV (Luminance-Bandwidth-Chrominance) without the compression with the use of its own ISP the frequency of fps record is halved. Support the record of video in standard ITU- R BT.656-4, YUV (YCbCr) the 4:2:2 with the built-in synchronization and its conversion (by means ISP) into format YUV the 4:2:2, RGB (444 and 565) and M -JPEg. The supply voltage of the interface input/output is from 1,8 to 2,4 v.
